Relate Interview

R: Tell us about yourself and a how you got your start acting?

A: I did my first commercial when I was 2 1/2 years old for Nickelodeon. I knew right away I loved acting! When I got to be 5-6-7 my parents got me involved in the entire process. To understand all aspects of what I was doing. Every year around the same time they ask me if this is something I want to continue and I always say “YES”. I dont see me stopping anytime soon. In my off time I like to play with my friends, volunteer with local charities, spend time with my family and more.

R: Tell us about your show “Maniac” and about your character, Belle Milgrim.

A: MANIAC is a show about a medical trial gone bad lol but it is also about relationships. Belle is one character I play. She comes from a wealthy family. She loves her Uncle Owen (Jonah Hill) and sees things in him the family does not. I also play Danielle Marino (daughter of Linda and Bruce). She is a jokester who not only tells jokes but likes to give her parents a hard time even if she isn’t trying to be bad. Then there is Australia (daughter of Owen & Olivia) one of seven kids just trying to get the attention of her dad who is confused about his destiny.

R: What was the audition process like?

A: We a call at 930am saying I needed to be in the city by 1145am and I was still asleep. My mom woke me up and we hit the road we got there at 1144am. Ran in, signed in and I went in the room. 5 minutes later we were back on the road. I had a photoshoot that day so we went to my shoot and on the way home we got a call saying they wanted to see me back the next day. The next day we arrived and were confused. We thought I had auditioned for a show called Chicago Fire. Then when we got to the callback, that was at a different place, they said “Oh you are hear for Ronald” my mom said ” No we are here to meet Cary” the guy was like ok follow me. Every corner we turned signs said Ronald. We thought we were in the wrong place. Turns our Ronald was not a person but a code name for MANIAC which we did not find out really for a few days. The call back process was pretty intense. They had about 10-15 boys and girls. Calling us in and out of the room mixing and matching us. Then they kept me back there for awhile and kept switching people out with me. I thought ” boy this is fun ” then they sent me out. My mom and I went to the bathroom and as we were walking back we heard them calling my name so my mom said “Here she is, go Aaralyn” and they were like no mom you. Then they told us I booked. But we didnt know what or any details for a few days. Then next thing I know I was at a table read with Emma Stone and Jonah Hill. The rest is history!

R: You get to work with an amazing cast. What is it like being on set with them and has anyone given you advice?

A: Everyone I got to work with from cast and crew were amazing! I love Ms Jenny the wardrobe lady she always let me tell her stories and always remembered where we left off. I loved working with Emma she was so fun! I learned alot about improv and character development from he. Jonah taught me how to commit to the script and the moment. I was so happy to see them again at the premiere.

R: Tell us about “Never G0 Back” and about your character, Sammy Whitaker.

A: Sammy is an unwanted daughter of a father and two brothers with no mother. She sort of has to fend for herself and isnt treated very well but still wants love. She sees and hears things no one her age should ever have to see.

R: Do you have any other projects that you would like to talk about?

A: I have a few things currently in talks. In November, my birthday month, I have a new commercial that will start airing and a couple magazine articles coming out. In season 14 of “What Would You Do?” on ABC I have two new episodes that will be airing.

R: If you could work with any five people, who would they be?

A: This is a really hard question there are so many amazing actors young and older that I admire. The answer for me is more that I would love to work on certain projects. For instance, I would love to land a lead role in a feature film, on a sitcom as a recurring principle or a kids channel show like Disney or Nickelodeon.

R: If you could visit any place in the world, which place would it be and why?

A: I really want to go to Australia! I love koalas and sloths and would love to see them in their natural habitat.
